Castration: at about 5 to 6 months before they can learn to lift their leg.

Hysterectomy: at about 6 to 7 months, there is no need to wait for the first heat.

Body Temperature: 38 - 39 degrees Celsius

Puberty: From 10 to 14 months. The duration: about 21 days, the female will be receptive from about the 11th day to the 18th day. There are 2 heats per year.

You should see your veterinarian if your puppy presents one or several of the following symptoms:
Your dog becomes inactive, refuses to eat or drink
Coughing
Runny eyes
Diarrhea
Continuous vomiting or problems breathing
Scratches regularly at the same spot i.e. ears, mouth, legs…

The puppy received his first vaccination at 6 weeks and should have a booster 30 days after the first vaccination and another booster at 4 months, this last one should include the rabies vaccination. After that, annual vaccination is preferable as well as a bordetella vaccination (kennel cough) if you anticipate your dog will come in contact with his little canine friends, i.e. training school, boarding, playing in the park…

At the annual visit, it is desirable to have your dog's stools analyzed to check for parasites that could have contaminated your dog unknowingly.
